Spicy Ginger Lemonade
For those in-between seasons days...
Looking for something to drink to help your immune system and upper respiratory system? Try some Spicy Ginger Lemonade!
2 cups of distilled or spring water in a pot and add about 1/4-1/2 cup of dried ginger root. Bring to a simmer and maintain that simmer for about 15 minutes. Turn off the heat and keep it on the warm burner.
Add about 2tbsp of dried hyssop and 1 tbsp of dried nettles to the ginger brew. Stir and let cool until it is barely warm to the touch.
Juice 3 medium lemons and add juice to a pitcher. Sweeten with honey (preferably local and raw).
Strain warm ginger tea mixture into pitcher and add another 1 cup of water.
Add a dash or 2 of cayenne pepper.
Stir and taste.

Cayenne Pepper: boosts metabolism, digestion support, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, respiratory support.


Sounds wonderful. When you say dried ginger are you referring to the powder you find in the spice area? Could it be made with fresh and how would you do the substitution?
